Italian Pavilion Debuts at the First Taiwan International Children’s Book Fair

Reliving the Taipei Book Fair Spirit – A Must-See for Southern Taiwan Readers

Following the enthusiastic response at the 2025 Taipei International Book Exhibition, the Italian Pavilion will once again meet Taiwanese readers at the first Taiwan International Children’s Book Fair. The event will be held from September 18 to 21, 2025, at the Taichung International Exhibition Center.

The exhibition will feature two major thematic showcases:

  • From illustration to comics. Pencils in talented young hands
  • IBBY Italia Choice 2024

These exhibitions aim to bring outstanding Italian picture books creations to readers in central and southern Taiwan, allowing them to experience the creativity and depth of Italian children’s literature.

In addition, three Italian authors will present engaging lectures at Galaxy Main Stage:

  • 9/18 (Thu) 14:15–15:15 — Paola Miryam Visconti, a scholar and creator specializing in ancient Italian history, literature, and art
  • 9/18 (Thu) 15:30–16:30 — Emanuela Nava, children’s book author and screenwriter
  • 9/18 (Thu) 16:45–17:45 — Philip Giordano, internationally renowned illustrator

The Italian Pavilion will also host a series of captivating cultural lectures during the fair, featuring notable figures from both Italy and Taiwan:

  • 9/18 (Thu) 14:00–15:00 Artists couple Stefano Misesti and Beni Chu
  • 9/19 (Fri) 14:00–15:00 Renowned Italian literature translator Ann-Yue Ni
  • 9/20 (Sat) 14:30–16:30 Luigi Raffone, Director of Italian Trade Agency and soprano Miranda Jan
  • 9/20 (Sat) 15:30–16:30 Freelance illustrator Tzu-Chun Chang
